Course description

At FSD Africa, we strive to create an environment where everyone, regardless of their unique differences and background, feels welcome and safe is a place where harassment and discrimination are kept at bay. This safe place which enables great talent to thrive and produce great impact is the kind of environment we seek to safeguard at FSD Africa. 

From August 2022, a series of mandatory safeguarding trainings sessions were conducted on:

·         Unconscious Bias

·         Sexual Harassment

·         Harassment, discrimination, and bullying.

(This was conducted in pursuant to clause 13 of the Safeguarding Policy, which requires that staff will be expected to take mandatory safeguarding training and refresher courses annually

Course Instruction

For new staff or those who missed this session, we welcome you to the online version of the course. This will include

1.       Course reading materials and reference links

2.       A video recording of the facilitators taking you through the course

3.       An assessment to knowledge check your understanding after the course

Time

We encourage you to go through the course and set aside 30mins per category. Please go through the content slowly and intentionally to gain proper understanding

● Determine strategies for addressing sexual harassment.


At the end of the course, you will be able to:

Gain awareness of other forms of harassment at the workplace by learning how to  avoid the conduct that leads to harassment and to use helpful strategies to deal  with the same. With this understanding, the session will empower the participants to create a safe and a respectful workplace.
